Hands in the Smoke
Privacy Policy
Last updated October 25, 2026
Hands in the Smoke (“HITS”) is based in Ceres, California. This policy explains what information we receive through handsinthesmoke.com and HITS lead forms on Facebook or Instagram, and how we use it. If you have a question about your information, email doug@handsinthesmoke.com.
Information you choose to give us
When you contact us about a website, repair, business system, or another project, we receive the details you submit. These may include your name, business name, email address, optional phone number, existing website address, project description, and any optional budget or timeline details. General contact messages contain your name, email address, subject, and message.
If you submit a HITS lead form on Facebook or Instagram, Meta provides us with the information you submit there, such as your name, email address, optional phone number, and answers about your project. Meta handles the form on its own platform under its own privacy terms. A Meta form does not automatically create a record in the HITS website CRM; we may add information to our business records when following up.
Food requests and orders may contain your name, contact details, requested items, dates, and notes. If you sign up for Food Order Open emails, we store your email address and subscription status. Those emails are separate from business-inquiry follow-up, and each notification includes an unsubscribe option.
How we use information
We use submitted information to answer your question, discuss or quote work, handle a Food request or order, maintain relevant prospect and inquiry history, and send the Food availability emails you requested. We may use limited technical information to keep forms working and reduce abuse. A Meta lead form does not enroll you in Food notifications.
Website visits and analytics
Our public production website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand page visits and interactions, such as contact intent and case-study clicks. Google Analytics may use cookies and collect device, browser, approximate location, and usage information. We do not intentionally put inquiry text, names, email addresses, or phone numbers in analytics event parameters. You can manage cookies through your browser. Administrative pages and Food unsubscribe pages are excluded from the site’s GA4 tag.
Cloudflare hosts the website and may process request and security information, such as IP address, browser details, and access logs, to deliver and protect it. The site also uses limited request information to throttle abusive form submissions.
Where information is handled
Website inquiry, CRM, Food, and subscription records are stored in the HITS application database hosted by Cloudflare. Approved public media is stored with Cloudflare. HITS uses Resend to send inquiry and Food-related email notifications; the information needed for those emails is provided to Resend and the intended recipients. Google processes website analytics. Meta processes information in Facebook and Instagram lead forms before it is made available to HITS. If you contact us by phone, text, or email, your carrier or email provider may also handle that communication.
Retention and your requests
HITS does not currently apply an automatic deletion period to inquiry, CRM, Food order, or subscriber records. These records remain until the owner reviews and deletes them; some may need to be kept for legal or operational reasons. If you want to ask what information we hold about you, request a correction or deletion, or stop business follow-up, email doug@handsinthesmoke.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting. Food notification emails have their own unsubscribe link.
Changes
We may update this policy when our practices change. The date above shows the latest version posted here.
