About this project

I built the Creative Lex site into a working custom-order system, then kept changing it as the branding, order details, and owner workflow became clearer.

Goal

What I was trying to do.

Give customers a structured way to request custom apparel and gifts instead of handling the whole order through Instagram messages.

How it evolved

Development timeline.

Four stages that changed how the site looked, how customers placed orders, and how the owner worked with those requests.

Original Creative Lex homepage with coral, yellow, and green branding
Stage 1

Original working custom-order site

What changedThe early portfolio became a working site with a conditional order form, order storage, private reference-image storage, a confirmation flow, and basic administration.

Why it changedCustomers needed a structured way to request apparel and gifts instead of relying entirely on Instagram messages.

Stage 2

Purple brand redesign

What changedThe original palette changed to a cohesive purple identity while the layout, typography, responsiveness, and order system stayed in place.

Why it changedThe owner wanted a cleaner, more feminine and creative identity that still felt professional and trustworthy.

Stage 3

Advanced mixed and bulk ordering

What changedThe form gained repeatable design entries, mixed-product choices, per-design quantities, clothing sizes, hat options, and quantity checks.

Why it changedA single free-text description could not reliably capture multiple designs, products, sizes, and quantities.

Stage 4

Owner-focused admin dashboard

What changedSearch, filters, sorting, urgency labels, image counts, clickable rows, and summary filters made requests easier to work through.

Why it changedThe owner needed to find requests quickly, see what was urgent, and prioritize work without opening every order.

Problem

What was difficult

As the orders became more detailed, one text box was no longer enough to capture multiple products, designs, sizes, and quantities.

Design change

What changed

The site moved from the original coral, yellow, and green look to the purple identity, then added more detailed ordering tools and a more useful admin workflow.

Final result

The current result.

The recovered history ends with an owner-focused dashboard for finding, filtering, and prioritizing custom-order requests. Fresh screenshots of the current site are still needed.
